Frequently asked questions

What is Causeway Flow?down-arrowup Arrow

Causeway Flow is a hydraulic modelling solution for the design and analysis of optimal, compliant and cost-effective storm and foul water drainage networks, developed for organisations looking for a robust, intuitive and complete solution.

Discover more about Causeway Flow here.

What's the difference between Causeway Flow and MicroDrainage?down-arrowup Arrow

Causeway Flow offers more flexibility in drainage designs and does not limit to designing within fixed guidelines or "best practices". This means users have the freedom and flexibility to design any network imaginable.

Engineers have the ability to model complex (non-dendritic) networks that contain nodes with multiple outgoing connections, bifurcations, parallel runs, or looped systems. Additionally, they can mix and match designed and existing network segments and simulate them as routine without requiring extra or external tools.

This flexibility means engineers aren't limited to outdated or obsolete software architecture.

Additionally, users can draw the exact shape and dimension of a flow-through pond structure. Our unique Flow-Through Pond technology makes Causeway Flow the only drainage design software that supports the exact shape and dimension of storage/infiltration in its true geographical locations.

Causeway Flow utilises a robust, accurate and stable engine called SWMM 5 that uses a dynamic wave routing method.

What's the difference between Causeway Flow and InfoDrainage?down-arrowup Arrow

Causeway Flow users have the advantage of extra flexibility as the architecture allows them to design any SuDS structure without requiring a template or fixed structure types.

Additionally, users can draw the exact shape and dimension of a flow-through pond structure. Our unique Flow-Through Pond technology makes Causeway Flow the only drainage design software that supports the exact shape and dimension of storage/infiltration in its true geographical locations.

Causeway Flow users can define separate online controls for each outgoing link and create a full 3D BIM model that includes thicknesses, bedding and surround materials, trench backfills, and much more. This allows for the deployment of full BIM compatibility.

What's the difference between Causeway Flow and MasterDRAIN?down-arrowup Arrow

Causeway Flow benefits from state-of-the-art technology instead of working with outdated software. Additionally, it has full hydraulic modelling capability. MasterDRAIN lacks that feature which means optimisations of the drainage capacity aren't accurately represented and don't lead to value engineering.

Causeway Flow users also benefit from the ability to create detailed sustainable drainage system (SuDS) designs. Flow also has outline design capability; This allows users to design from the initial concept through to detailed designs ready for approval. All in a single, complete package.

Causeway Flow allows for data exchange with CAD and GIS platforms to shorten the design time.

Additionally, our unique Flow-Through Pond technology makes Causeway Flow the only drainage design software that supports the exact shape and dimension of storage/infiltration in its true geographical locations.
