Anthony McCloy
Managing Director, McCloy Consulting

Anthony is a drainage expert and industry commentator who contributed to peer review and development of the eBook.

He brings deep technical knowledge of SuDS and hydrological design, with a pragmatic view on drainage policy, neutrality, and the evolving planning landscape.

He’s particularly interested in the impact of nutrient neutrality and Schedule 3 implementation across the UK

Bridget Woods-Ballard
Technical Director, HR Wallingford

Bridget is a Technical Director and leads the Catchments & Drainage Team at HR Wallingford. 

She is a hydrologist and civil engineer and specialises in nature-based approaches to flood and surface water management. She is the lead author for the CIRIA SuDS Manual and has supported national and international guidance, standards and policies in this field.

Chris Patmore
Technical Director, RPS

As a Technical Director with over 30 years experience, Chris specialises in flood risk and sustainable drainage design for major infrastructure projects for residential developments, rail, highways, petrochemical and energy installations. Including a role as expert witness on flood risk and drainage issues.

 

Project work includes conducting sustainable drainage design and flood risk assessments for new developments, critical infrastructure, traffic studies, feasibility design, the environmental analysis of hydrology and traffic.

Chris’s role spans the planning design of SuDS flood mitigation through to the detailing and assessment of SuDS solutions. Currently undertaking numerous Sequential Tests some of which have gone to appeal.

As part of CIRIA steering groups, Chris has been involved in both iterations of the SuDS Design Manual as well as the SUSDRAIN website and the preparation of the DCG (Design and Construction Guidance).

Jo Bradley
Director of Operations, Stormwater Shepherds UK

Jo is a long-time advocate for water quality and sustainable drainage. She brings an environmental and policy-driven lens to the discussion, informed by her leadership at Stormwater Shepherds UK—a registered charity focused on pollution prevention and drainage improvement.

Jo has worked closely with public and private sectors to advance understanding and practical implementation of SuDS
