Philip King is passionate about small businesses, credit management, and the importance of managing cash flow. He created the “Philip King Five-Step Model: Business Survival by Getting Paid,” which he has developed and refined over more than four decades, drawing on 26 years of front-line credit management experience, 14 years as Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management, and eighteen months as the interim Small Business Commissioner for the UK.
Philip has witnessed first-hand the differences between good and bad practices and enjoys sharing his expertise with small businesses that need to maintain their cash flow to survive and build effective trading relationships with larger customers, often while feeling at a disadvantage as the weaker negotiating partner.
Philip also relishes working with large businesses that value their supply chains, recognise the importance of supporting smaller suppliers, and want them to prosper, supporting numerous larger organisations in their journey to improve payment practices by implementing simple but effective steps.
Currently, Philip collaborates with various organisations that deliver solutions or tools to help small businesses.
